Nothing as always
As always nothing new. I have been playing around with a ton of stuff but nothing worthy of putting up on the site yet (regardless of how low that entrance barrier is).
- Hacked a bittorrent client (ctorrent-enhanced) to falsely report uploads. I may add in actual command line args to it and change it to have evil defaults (Spoofed user agent and 0 upload) and then put up a fork (cheatorrent;)
- Modified my conway apps to try to recreate a picture, it's been 3 days and it's only getting about 0.2% of it correct (50x50 sequence for a 250x250 image), which is really awful.
- I'm thinking next round of GAs maybe Turing machine definitions and then simulate them. No clue if this is feasible yet
- As for woodworking, the rabbit pillars are about 2/5 of the way put together. I may scrap my pipeholder and redo it, not sure. It's not very interesting.
- I want to try to start growing pieces for woodworking out of roots. For example take a steel pipe and grow a plant in it, and you could get a mesh of roots in a cylinder form. I have to find a plant that has fast growing and very tough roots. Currently I'm thinking cacti/succulents since they have thick strong roots for embedding in loose sandy soil. No clue if this is feasible, since raw roots look kinda ugly.

So much to do, so little motivation
For my 3 regular readers it's that time again! Today I will write out what I'm doing, and bemoan the fact that I didn't get alot of other stuff done.
- I didn't finish the trackmate hardware writeup, and probably never will :p
- I actually have been fixing up the site, I'm about 1/3 of the way done moving pictures around, then I can use pretty links. I did fix the timestamp issue, and the tab is now highlighted for the current section. I have to change the Home page one of these years
- I made 2 genetic Conway applications, both I'm letting run for a while and will update the site with final results then
- I have a third genetic Conway app I want to make to see if it can add numbers
- I'm working through an equilateral triangle problem we were discussing at work. As a graduate student in Mathematics I can't figure out how to get the peaks of the triangles, but I did make a cool draggy thingie with processingJs, which is just as good as actually solving the problem :p
- I've also been making anti-bunny pillars. Basically they are large wooden pillars with a cinder block inside of each, and a place to attach rabbit fencing. We don't have any place to put the rabbit when we move, so I've been scrambling to finish them up. Currently the pieces are cut, I just need to shape them so they look nice, then glue/nail it together, and paint it.
- I need to build a computing area, since currently I have 3 computers, 3 monitors, a giant TV, an amp, a router, breadboard stuff, 3 game systems, large UPS, and random odds and ends that I like to be grouped together but do not really have the space for right now and it's really unweildy.
- Our current house has several shelves built into the walls. The new house doesn't...considering we have a ton of books, games, DVDs, and craft supplies (With a ton more coming in), we need lots of shelving

Trackmate Working...really
Well the Trackmate finally works properly. The two issues were I needed frosted glass and that the BW threshold needs to be set incredibly high and is way different than the BW threshold using the setup sheets (Since they have alot of white and reflect back more light).
Over the next week I plan to finish up the little Trackmate RNG I'm making, and put up the details for the hardware assembly
Starting next week work will be really busy again, and I'm moving yet again over the next month. Plus school is starting soon, so I'm pretty much screwed for time.

Trackmate Working...sorta
Well I got the trackmate setup, it's working so-so but lighting is really tricky. I will probably put up a tutorial or 2 once I'm done, since there is alot of bad information out there mainly regarding the hardware. A couple of youtube videos of proof that it works, nothing really of interest though:
- Sequencer -- 3 midi sequences, height on the board controls the volume
- URL Loader -- The 3 chips represent urls of sites, putting them on goes to the site, taking them off blanks the page

Always Busy
I haven't had time for too many personal projects lately, I seem to have completely lost the past 4 weekends. I have been spending some free time playing with Haskell, and finally made something with it :p I'm working through Real World Haskell which is a wonderful book, and infinitely more useful than A Gentle Introduction To Haskell.
Also, for no reason, I bought all the parts to make a trackmate. I'm just waiting on the PS3 Eye I ordered from Amazon to test everything out. I'm setup on my Windows work laptop to just plug it in and try when everything comes. Unsurprisingly, I'm having issues with getting things working in Gentoo. I plan to make my main machine a dual boot between Gentoo and Ubuntu, since I'm starting to get a little fed-up with portage issues.
I still have a ton of site maintenance:
- Fix URLs to be slashes instead of the ugly ?foo=bar&faz=baz style
- Move pictures from google page creator
- Have current section's tab highlighted at the top
- Being able to update posts without changing timestamps
- Stepping Stool
- Pipe Holder
- Random Music Generator 2
- Tenori-on clone (On hold till I can figure out JACK)
- Beginner PIC tutorial
