Pastebin Hell
Overview
Not really a project, but interesting enough I didn't want it lost in the blog section. This was an exercise to abuse pastebin. It will take any file and upload it in base64ed chunks to pastebin, and then retrieve it again. This was done in collaboration with Chris who made the Perl script for POSTing data, and some nicer scripts for upload and download ( Although mine took less time :)
Code
- Paste Hell Upload -- requires the filename to upload
- Paste Hell Download -- requires the download id for the index file
- HTTP Post script in Perl, has some CPAN requirements.
Conclusion
This worked fairly easily, I was able to tranfer a roughly 5MB mp3 file and redownload it and have Chris grab it too. It's just a proof of concept, and I assume if people starting doing this all the time the pastebin people would add captchas. Although the interesting thing is there are quite a few people using the pastebin code on their sites, so there is quite a bit of abuse potential.
